Hello all…

Doraha has finally ended and a lot of you didnt like the ending. I am sorry to shatter expectations, but as I wrote earlier, both Umera and I got a little caught up I think at the end and the last episode was written while shooting was already in progress and so both of us could not give it the time that it deserved. The ending needed one more episode to take shape and a more thorough conclusion. But I take full responsibility.  Some of you have liked the ending and to you, i say thank you :) However, i do agree with a lot of points made by all of you regarding the wrap up and will keep them in mind.

Meanwhile, HUM TV has started showing my old TV serial Aur Zindagi Badalti Hai which was shot almost 8 years ago in Spain. This was my first 13 ep serial and I have very nostalgic feelings about it and hopefully have learnt from the mistakes i made in it. The episodes can be seen online on Vidpk.com as well as Youtube for those who don’t get HUM TV.

Stay safe and well.

Hello all. Just wanted to update everyone on the next project. It’s a 15 episode serial called Malal, written by Umera Ahmed and starring Faisal Rehman, Deepti Gupta, Mikaal Zulfiqar and many others. The filming will take place in New York where it’s freezing right now. In fact we just had another snowfall so I have told all the actors coming from Pakistan to really bundle up! It’s tough to act outdoors in the cold and I will try and delay the outdoor shoot to end Feb..but even then! We had the same problems in the serial Pehchaan which was also shot in New York in 2005 in Dec and Jan. Sonia Rehman, Deepti Gupta and Ismail Bashey had some pretty tough moments trying to say their lines out in the open with the cold and wind chill!

Anyhow, I am excited about this new serial. It’s been a year now since I shot Doraha and I can’t wait to get back on set!

Hey all,

Thank you so much for your comments on Doraha. I am so happy it is being liked. I usually don´t do too many serials especially after they have become endless, having 18-150 episodes, but sometimes I think it takes that long for a story to register in the madness of cable tv. This project was made by everyone´s participation and all the actors and the crew worked very hard on it, with all the actors esp taking their roles very seriously and engaging with them, and the crew members working with complete dedication.

We usually started filming everyday around 9 or so and took a day off after every 8th day. The total shooting spell was 45 days. If you have any questions about the shooting or the drama..please go ahead and ask!

Again. Thank you.
